The Kentucky Derby is up for grabs.

Uncle Mo, the prohibitive favorite…up until this weekend, was defeated in the Woods Memorial.

It was a tremendous upset. One of the biggest in the 87 year history of the race.

Everything changed when  Toby’s Corner charged past Uncle Mo and Arthur’s Tale in the stretch to pull the shocking upset and send the Derby picture into a tailspin.

In 1973 Secretariat finished third and won the Triple Crown.

As disappointed as the Uncle Mo connections were, it was the opposite end of emotions for the Toby’s Corner crew.

“I can’t stop laughing,” owner Dianne Cotter said.

Toby’s Corner trainer Graham Motion said earlier in the week that “second- or third-place money was really good” in the race, but they ended up claiming the $600,000 first-place money and vaulting into the Derby picture.

I can’t wait for the Derby.
